Introduction

In this guide, we're going to look at how to buy tBTC with real funds, so that we can interact better with certain testnets.

Step 1

First, we need to buy some real crypto. If you already have some crypto that you want to use, you can do so.

If you don't have any crypto, you can use an exchange such as: Coinbase, Crypto.com, Binance etc.

  • Purchase a small amount of any coin such as BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC etc.

For this guide, I'm going to use DOGE since it's cheap and fast to move around.

Now we need to head over to altquick.com and sign-up for an account.

After creating an account, go ahead and log in.

Step 2

Now head to the deposit page. Here we can generate a deposit address for your selected coin.

In my case, I will scroll down to Doge and press "Generate" button to generate a deposit address.

Copy your deposit address, then go to the exchange you purchased your coins from and press Send, then paste your deposit address.

Step 3

To see if your coins were deposited, you can go to your Balances page and check.

Step 4

Now head to the Markets page. Here you can select your deposited coin.

In my case, it will be Dogecoin.

You will need to select your coin, then scroll down and you will see an option to sell your coin for BTC.

Input any available amount, then hit "Sell" button.

Now you should have some BTC balance available in your account.

Step 5

Now we can finally purchase tBTC using the BTC we just received.

Head back to the Markets page again, and this time select BitcoinTestnet3.

Here we can buy tBTC using our BTC.

Step 6

To withdraw the tBTC to your wallet you will need to head to the Withdraw page and select BitcoinTestnet3 (tBTC).

Then just input the amount you want to withdraw, and input your Testnet3 address and hit "Withdraw" button.
