Introduction
In this guide I will show you how to interact with BRC-20 tokens in Ordinals Wallet.
The Ordinals Wallet is a type of Bitcoin wallet that has the capability to support inscriptions in Ordinals. With this wallet, users are able to receive, store, and view their Ordinals, as well as perform actions like transferring, sending, inscribing, and buying or selling Ordinals.
BRC-20 is a token standard for the Bitcoin blockchain that shares similarities with Ethereum's ERC-20. Its purpose is to create fungible tokens using the Ordinals protocol, but unlike ERC-20 tokens, BRC-20 tokens do not employ smart contracts.
Requires a small amount of BTC.
Step 1
First, go to ordinalswallet.com/wallet & connect your wallet.
If you don't have an Ordinals wallet, you can check out our guide here: How To Setup Ordinals Wallet
Copy your wallet address from Ordinals & send a small amount of Bitcoin to it.
Step 2
Go to the BRC20 tab at the top & scroll down until you find a token that hasnt been fully minted yet & click "Mint".
Please only do this at your own risk! A lot of these tokens are just "memecoins" & potentially scams. I would not advise putting any large amounts of money into any of these coins!
For this you will need to pay a gas fee.
Step 3
Set a network fee & hit "Inscribe".
Step 4
Now let's make a small purchase.
Select BRC20 again, this time choose any token from the top, select it & buy some.
Step 5
Now let's create our own token!
Go to "Inscribe" at the top, now select "BRC-20".
Insert a Ticker & Supply Amount, then hit "Submit".
