In this guide, we will explore Infrared Finance on BeraChain!


What is Infrared Finance?

Infrared is focused on developing infrastructure for the Proof of Liquidity (PoL) mechanism introduced by Berachain. Its goal is to enhance value capture by offering user-friendly liquid staking solutions for BGT and BERA, along with node infrastructure and PoL vaults. By building around PoL, Infrared aims to improve the user experience and support the growth of the Berachain ecosystem. Their products, such as iBGT and iBERA, simplify participation in PoL, allowing users to optimize their rewards in BGT and BERA. Additionally, Infrared's offerings create new opportunities within the Berachain ecosystem by making BGT and staked BERA more interoperable.

What is iBGT?

iBGT is a liquid wrapper for BGT tokens, with a 1:1 backing by BGT ensured through Infrared's smart contracts. While BGT cannot be staked to obtain iBGT and iBGT cannot be converted back to BGT, iBGT enables holders to stake through Infrared’s staking vault and earn all related BGT rewards.



Step 1

First, we need to claim some BERA from the faucet: bartio.faucet.berachain.com




Step 2

Next, we need to perform two swaps.

To do this, head over to: bartio.bex.berachain.com/swap

For the first swap, we want to exchange our BERA for HONEY.

Then we can swap half of our HONEY for STGUSDC.

Now you should have a good amount of both HONEY & STGUSDC.






Step 3

Now we need to receive some HONEY-USDC-LP tokens.

To do this, we need to add our HONEY & STGUSDC tokens to a Pool which you can find here: bartio.bex.berachain.com/pools

Select the HONEY-USDC pool.

Insert any amount of both tokens, Approve both and then press "Add Liquidity".





Step 4

Now let's finally check out Infrared Finance!

First we'll explore the vaults: infrared.finance/vaults

Select the HONEY/USDC vault.

We should see our HONEY-USDC-LP tokens here.

Press the balance to insert the full amount, then Approve tokens, and fnally hit "Stake HONEY-USDC-LP" button to stake them.




Now we can see we have started earning iBGT rewards.

After a few hours we can come back and hit "Claim".
