How To Interact With The Fuel Network Mainnet

Introduction

In this guide, we're going to explore the Fuel mainnet and look at some ways of preparing ourselves for a potential future airdrop!

What is Fuel Network?

Fuel v1 originated as a layer-2 (L2) scalability solution aimed at supporting a unified Ethereum network. It introduced the first optimistic rollups on Ethereum’s mainnet and was fully deployed by the end of 2020.

Today, Fuel has evolved into the fastest modular execution layer, focusing on top-tier security and flexible throughput. Its main goal is to offer developers an outstanding user experience.

The FuelVM takes inspiration from the Ethereum ecosystem, integrating various enhancements proposed for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) over the years. Innovations like parallel transaction execution and multi-native asset support, which were previously limited by the need for backward compatibility, are now possible.

Step 1

First, we need to install the Fuel Wallet extension.

If you followed our Fuel Testnet guide a little while back then you may already have the wallet setup, if not, go ahead and create a new one.

Step 2

Next, head over to the Fuel bridge: app.fuel.network/bridge & connect your Fuel wallet.

Then we need to connect our EVM wallet as well. This will most likely be your MetaMask wallet or an alternative one.

Step 3

Now we just need to bridge some ETH from our EVM wallet to our Fuel wallet.

Insert any amount and hit "Deposit".

Step 4

Now that we have ETH on the network, we can start exploring the Fuel ecosystem: app.fuel.network/ecosystem

On this page you can find a huge selection of Dapps to interact with.
