Introduction

In this guide, we're going to take a look at Fuel Network and how to interact with the ongoing testnet.

What is Fuel Network?

Fuel v1 initially emerged as a layer-2 (L2) scalability solution designed for a unified Ethereum. It marked the inception of optimistic rollups on the Ethereum mainnet and was implemented by the close of 2020.

In its current state, Fuel stands as the most rapid modular execution layer, prioritizing optimal security and adaptable throughput. Its primary emphasis is on providing developers with an exceptional user experience.

The FuelVM derives insights from the Ethereum ecosystem, incorporating enhancements proposed for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) over the course of several years. These improvements, such as parallel transaction execution and support for multiple native assets, were previously unattainable due to the imperative of preserving backward compatibility.

Step 1

First, open Google Chrome, head over to wallet.fuel.network/docs/install & install the Fuel Wallet extension.

Open it and select "Create New Wallet".

Follow the steps to get your wallet setup.

Step 2

Now head over to faucet-beta-4.fuel.network & insert your new fuel address from the Fuel Wallet extension.

Step 3

Now let's go to infura.io/faucet/sepolia, insert our MetaMask wallet address & claim some test ETH on Sepolia.

Step 4

Now we need to perform a transaction within Fuel Wallet.

For this step, you can either send some test ETH to yourself, or to another fuel address.

Step 5

Now let's head over to the official Fuel Bridge & connect both our MetaMask & Fuel wallets.

Insert any amount of ETH and hit "Deposit".

Step 6

Now let's go to thundernft.market and make an offer for a listed NFT.

Step 7

Now we can go ahead and earn some extra points via Layer3: layer3.xyz/quests/bridge-to-fuel-testnet

For this step, we will connect using our MetaMask wallet.
