Introduction

In this guide I will show you how to interact with the Scroll Alpha Testnet & get positioned for potential airdrops!

Scroll is a technology that helps Ethereum scale by using a process called zkRollup. It has two main parts: zkEVM, which makes sure that Ethereum works correctly, and a Layer 2 architecture that surrounds it. The team has been working on it for over a year with the Ethereum Foundation's Privacy and Scaling Explorations group.

Step 1

First, let's go to scroll.io/alpha.

Now select "Connect Wallet" on the Layer 1 Goerli Testnet option.

Now select "Add to MetaMask" & approve it.




Step 2

Now go to the Goerli Faucet & login to Alchemy in the top right corner.

Lastly, insert your MetaMask wallet address & click "Send me ETH".

Transaction may take up to 10 Mins.

Step 3

Let's do some bridging!

Go back to scroll.io/alpha & select "Bridge".

Insert an amount of ETH and click "Send ETH to Scroll Alpha Testnet".

Transaction may take a little while.

Step 4

Now let's perform a simple transaction!

On scroll.io/alpha, select the arrow in the middle to reverse the pair, a pop-up should appear to switch network, approve that and then open Metamask.

Check that it says "Scrollnet Alpha Testnet" at the top, and then send some ETH to any random address.




Step 5

Now go back to scroll.io/alpha & bridge some ETH back to Goerli Testnet.
