Introduction

In this guide, we will learn how to interact with Unichain testnet using Brid.gg and SuperBridge Beta.

What is Unichain?

Unichain is a DeFi-focused Layer 2 network on Ethereum, designed to serve as a hub for multichain liquidity with fast, low-cost transactions. Built to scale Ethereum's roadmap, Unichain shifts transaction execution to Layer 2, reducing transaction fees by approximately 95% initially, with further reductions anticipated. Though it uses a single sequencer for efficiency, Unichain enhances decentralization by involving full nodes in block verification.

Launching with 1-second block times, Unichain aims to reduce latency to 250 ms, improving market efficiency by increasing arbitrage opportunities and minimizing losses from MEV. As part of the Superchain, Unichain supports native interoperability across chains, making liquidity easily accessible across networks.

Step 1

First, we need to claim some testnet ETH from the Sepolia faucet: Google Cloud Web3 Faucet

Step 2

Now head over to Brid.gg and connect your wallet.

Step 3

Now input any amount of Sepolia ETH and hit Review Transaction, then press Confirm.

* Gas Fees can be extremely high during certain times of the day, if the gas fee is too high to proceed then please wait a few hours and try again.

Step 4

Now let's check out SuperBridge Beta

Again, connect your wallet and bridge any amount of ETH from Sepolia to Unichain Sepolia.
