Introduction

In this guide, we're going to explore the Zetachain Testnet & interact with some projects built on ZetaChain!

ZetaChain functions as a dual-purpose platform, serving as both a layer 1 (L1) blockchain and a smart contract platform. It boasts EVM compatibility and offers built-in connectivity to various blockchains and layers. With ZetaChain, developers can create interoperable decentralized applications (dApps) that extend across multiple chains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon and more, enabling access to diverse chains through a unified interface.


Step 1

First, we need to go to labs.zetachain.com & verify ourselves by connecting to Twitter/X, then Follow ZetaChain, and finally connect your wallet.

For this guide I will use MetaMask wallet.




Step 2

Now we can request test tokens!

Click "Request Assets", hit approve & switch network, after that you should see your tokens appear in MetaMask.





Step 3

Now let's interact with the testnet!

Head over to test.aceswap.io/swap & connect your wallet.

Here we can perform some swaps using our Zeta test tokens, for this guide I'll swap from ZETA to EMMET, then back to ZETA.

It will also give you the option to add the tokens to MetaMask.

I recommend doing the following swaps:

• ZETA EMMET
• ZETA ACE
• ZETA ZNT
• ZETA gETH
• ZETA wZETA

It's a good idea to claim more test tokens daily and perform these swaps often to increase your chances of a potential future airdrop!

Step 4

Now let's check out Eddy Finance: An Omnichain DEX built on ZetaChain that allows you to move assets and stablecoins between different chains such as BTC, ETH, BNB, MATIC, and more!

Go to app.eddy.finance, select ZetaSwap & connect your wallet.

Now, where it says "You Pay" select "aZETA" from the list, and for "You Get" you can choose any token, for this guide I will select "e.ETH".

Input any amount & hit "Approve".

Now click "Review Transaction", then "Swap", finally confirm with MetaMask.






Step 5

Now let's check out EMMET Finance: A DeFi platform for cross-chain bridging, swapping, staking & more!

Go to emmet.finance/bridge & connect your wallet.

Next, select "EMMET" token, and set the "Network of Origin" as "Athens3".

Now set a Destination Network, I'm going to select "BSCTestnet", but I will also send some EMMET to other networks too such as: Scroll, Mumbai, Base & Linea.

Input any amount & hit "Approve".

Now we need to set a spending cap in the MetaMask pop-up, I'm just going to insert "1000" since its only a test network.

Now we just need to select "SELF" where it says "Target Address".

Finally, hit "Transfer" & confirm with MetaMask.





Step 6

Now let's finish up by interacting with ZetaChains socials.

First, let's join the official ZetaChain Discord server & verify ourselves!

Next, let's head over to the Galxe Campaign, here we can claim the Zeta Supporter OAT (Onchain Achievement Token), not only that but you can also complete both the "Zeta Assimilated 101" & "Zeta Assimilated 201" quiz!

This will grant you 2 more OAT's!

Finally, let's go to Crew3 & complete some tasks, you don't need to complete all of them but the more the better!

Step 7

Next, let's go to the Guild and connect our wallet.

Here we can mint the ZetaChain Guild Pin to show we're a true supporter & community member, as well as claim our Roles within the community!

You will need a small amount of funds in your MetaMask wallet to mint the Guild Pin, it's only 2 MATIC (roughly $2 worth). You can purchase this through an exchange such as Coinbase & transfer it to your MetaMask address.

Step 8

Finally, let's go check out another Galxe campaign: XDEFI Campaign

Here we can complete some more tasks that'll grant us a ZetaZone Z-Key OAT (On-chain Achievement Token), as well as eight Z-Chain NFTs!

If you're struggling to complete the first task, you need to import your MetaMask into your XDeFi wallet & opt-in in the settings.

How to import your MetaMask into XDeFi:

1. Open XDeFi wallet
2. Press the account in the top-left corner
3. Click the button
4. Insert your MetaMask seed phrase and finish setup
5. Go to Settings, then "Participate in Campaigns" and make sure the newly imported account is opted-in.

Go back to Galxe and refresh the task, it should now be marked as complete.

For the next set of tasks, we'll need to re-do some of our network activity from the previous steps, but instead of connecting our MetaMask wallet, we'll connect with our XDeFi Wallet instead.

The network activity will still be under the same address though since we just imported our MetaMask wallet into XDeFi wallet.
